Philadelphia Neighborhoods - University
City Real Estate
The part of West Philadelphia called University City, is separated from
Center City by the Schuylkill River and Route 76. Although Philadelphia
is home to many institutions of higher learning, it is primarily the
Ivy League University of Pennsylvania that gives this section of town
its name (although Drexel University is also close by). The unviersity
offers an attractive campus , which is a highlight of the area. The
Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, which has an interesting collection
of Egyptian artifacts or the Institute of Contemporary Art, which often
features innovative visual artists, are also located in University City.
